PureMetrix via Google Tag Manager

Add PureMetrix through Google Tag Manager (GTM) if your marketing team manages tracking codes there—or if you want to run it alongside GA4 for a while before you remove GA4.

Recommended setup

  1. Create a Custom HTML (or community template) tag that loads the PureMetrix script with data-domain and your public key.
  2. Trigger it on All Pages (or use Consent Initialization and fire it only if your consent tool allows analytics—that is your legal decision).
  3. Add tags for custom events that call the PureMetrix event function described in the docs.
  4. Use GTM preview mode to check that the script loads only once and your goals fire.

GTM and cookieless tracking

PureMetrix itself does not set visitor cookies. But loading it through GTM does not remove cookies set by other tags in the same container. If you want a leaner, more privacy-friendly setup, review the container and remove tags you no longer need once PureMetrix is live.

Proxy tip

If ad blockers block collect.puremetrix.org, use a proxy on your own domain and point the GTM tag at your /px/js URL.
