Metrics definitions
What the main numbers in your PureMetrix dashboard mean — in short, plain words.
- Visitors — the number of different people, counted per day and without cookies. Someone who comes back on a later day is counted again for that day.
- Visits / sessions — one visitor’s pageviews in a row. A visit ends after 30 minutes without activity; see also what is a session.
- Pageviews — each time a page loads (or a single-page app changes its URL). Only pageviews count towards the Free limit — events and engagement signals do not.
- Bounce rate — the share of visits with just one pageview and no interaction (no second page, no event). GA4 calculates this differently.
- Duration / time on page — only the time the tab was visible and in focus; background tabs do not count. Treat it as a guide, not a stopwatch.
